Who I am
I’m Reinier van Dieren, a learning and leadership development strategist. I connect business goals to how a company develops its people and its leaders.
In the past twenty years, I’ve worked in learning and development across industries, companies, and countries. The last fifteen of those years, I’ve run my own business, five of them co-founding a training agency. Between building a business of my own and spending real time inside so many others, close enough to watch leadership happen day in, day out, I’ve learned as much from other people’s kitchens as from running my own.
Build the learning and capability strategy and make it land, tied directly to what the business is trying to do.
Lead the function or the change from inside for six to eighteen months, then hand over something that holds.
Design and facilitation for senior leadership groups.
Why people call me
A new strategy or direction, and people are not ready for it yet.
A big change in how the work gets done, new technology or a new operating model, that needs new skills.
A learning or academy function that is not connected to the business, or is not delivering.
A leadership pipeline that is not strong enough for where the company is going.
What I’ve done
I took an international higher-education institution's academy from a side project to a function the leadership relies on and brings in early.
I worked directly with two board members to define what leadership should mean in the company, and turned that into a framework the company adopted. It is now the basis for how it develops leaders, hires managers, and runs appraisals.
Co-design and co-facilitation for the programme for country managing directors in a result-driven, supply-chain business.
